There are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the ground.
There are a thousand ways to go home again.Jalaluddin Rumi
In Unitarian Universalism, you can bring your whole self: your full identity, your questioning mind, your expansive heart...

Pluralism of Faith
Most houses of worship require a particular set of religious beliefs for adherents. We do not. More than anything else, Unitarian Universalist fellowships stand for the right of individuals to form their own beliefs. Some of our members may be devout Christians who feel that the traditional Christian churches don’t speak to their way of thinking. Other members come from the Jewish tradition. Still others have come from Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and other religious traditions. Some practice the oldest of religions; communing with nature’s wind, water, and earth. And some are doubters or even outright non-believers. Many of our members have inter-faith backgrounds. Everyone with an open mind and a caring heart is welcome no matter their belief, their faith, their social or political identity.
We have among our midst people from all religions and faiths.
Diversity of Ideas
A Unitarian Universalist (UU) fellowship fosters a diversity of ideas by embracing a broad spectrum of beliefs, encouraging open dialogue, and creating a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds. Rooted in principles of free thought and inclusivity, UU communities do not adhere to a single creed but instead support each individual’s search for truth and meaning. By drawing wisdom from various religious traditions, humanist philosophies, and scientific inquiry, these fellowships cultivate an environment where differing perspectives are respected and explored. Through discussions, worship services, and social justice initiatives, members are encouraged to engage with new ideas, challenge assumptions, and deepen their understanding of the world. This commitment to intellectual and spiritual diversity allows for a dynamic and evolving community where all voices contribute to a shared pursuit of wisdom and ethical living.
Variety of Beliefs
UU fellowships provide a space where curiosity is nurtured, doubt is embraced, and personal convictions can evolve freely. By upholding the principles of mutual respect and the inherent worth of every person, they create an environment where different beliefs coexist harmoniously, enriching the collective understanding of truth, meaning, and justice. A UU fellowship fosters a variety of beliefs by creating an open and inclusive environment where individuals are encouraged to think critically, explore new perspectives, and develop their own understanding of the world. Rather than promoting a single worldview, UU communities value intellectual freedom and the exchange of ideas across diverse backgrounds. Members engage in thoughtful discussions on philosophy, ethics, social issues, and personal values, recognizing that beliefs are shaped by experience, reflection, and continuous learning. Through respectful dialogue and shared inquiry, UU fellowships cultivate a space where differing perspectives are not only accepted but celebrated, allowing for a dynamic and evolving community built on mutual respect and a commitment to lifelong growth.
Conversations with the Sacred
Unitarian Universalism offers diverse and meaningful ways of connecting with the sacred. Whether we're sitting in Zen Buddhist meditation, listening for truth with Christian lectio divina, praying to the spirit of life, or chanting in a circle at winter solstice, our spirituality is unbounded. Our stories and practices draws from our six sources of inspiration. We may find joy by keeping a gratitude journal, peace by reflecting in meditation, hope by joining hands in a circle of prayer, connection while marching for justice, wisdom from hiking in the forest. As people of many beliefs, we are each encouraged to embrace and practice forms of spirituality that resonate with our hearts and minds. Our communities are homes for people with a diversity of spiritual practices. Through our worship services and programs, we offer people the opportunity to learn more and go deeper.
